I ended up basically redesigning most of Golgari for Return to Ravnica. Late in the process, after the humans got an overhaul, I have a shot at doing some non-humans.

The basic concept behind them was always supposed to be a symboitic relationship between the Golgari and an invasive fungus. The thought still creeps me out.
